Citizen's letter to Mr. Bush

By Anonymous - Posted on 07 January 2009

Dear Mr. Bush,

Four eight years of my life I have lived in an America you have created as president. I have seen the dying of civil liberties that American soldiers have fought and died for. I have watched our schools turned inside out by your educational policies. You have allowed a spirit of intolerance and fear to fester and grow in the heart of a nation that should be empowered by the differences and identities of its citizens. Eight years ago America was a nation of hope, strong in it's convictions and eager to reach agreement and settle problems. Under your leadership that America has died. With your help we have become a divided nation. The United States you swore to protect became weak and lost. The greatest shame of all has been your hypocrisy on Christian values. You claim to be a Christian and follow the teachings of Christ yet you support torture, invade sovereign nations with little cause, ignore the poor, protect the rich and refuse to listen to anyone who disagrees with you. In every way your presidency to date has failed to live up to the expectations and dreams of the American people. I am glad to see you go. Perhaps history will judge you kinder than the present. I pray that god blesses you with the wisdom and humility to admit your mistakes. Regardless, I forgive you and wish you well in your life.

Sincerely,

A Citizen

I hope that Mr. Bush will read this letter someday.

I doubt that he'd understand it.

Why should he? There are no pictures. :-P

What do you think Hell is? God is the biggest advocate of torture there is. He's sent more people to be tortured than Hitler, Stalin, and Bush combined.

-other than that one little snag, nice letter. I hope history certainly does not judge him kindly.

and plain stupid.

Why don't you just off yourselves -- clearly you will be much happier.

Your comment just verifies the wit and wisdom of the letters found on this site. Stupid? No, patient and long suffering is more like it.

Your wish for us to just "off ourselves" is really rather more proof of your stupidity than ours. And testament to the vile nature of the Bush Administration whose attitude pretty much mirrored yours.

So, no, I'm not going to commit suicide. I am going the cheer the efforts of a NEW administration who cares far more about my daily life, my paycheck and my family than you obviously do.

Tim K.

Thank you for having the courage and conviction to stand up against the evil that is plaguing our world today Mr. President. Where others would run, you stood up; where most would simply talk, you acted; and most importantly, thank-you for keeping my children safe for 8 years.

You've admitted mistakes, however, history will judge you fairly. For us hard-working Americans who have no sense of entitlement and praise the good of this country, thank you !

So long, thanks for all the fish. Or, you know, thanks for nothing.
