An Admirer

I just watched a movie called W. the Movie. I do not know how much is true and how much is just about entertainment. I also do not care about your sorted past. Who doesn't have some skeletons in their closet? I am a spiritual person who believes that you are a courageous man of foresight who acted from his heart and did what the country needed done, even though it did not make you a very popular person.

The movie portrays your decision to run for president as a 'calling' from God. I knew that before I ever heard of this movie or heard anyone say that you indicated it to your minister. Maybe you did, maybe you didn't - but I know it is so. You probably saved the world from domination by a lunatic who got his kicks from torturing his own people. WMDs or not, I don't care. Saddam needed to be stopped, and you were the person to do it. We could well have ended up in a situation not unlike Nazi Germany, only much much worse were it not for your brave commitment to action. I know you made mistakes, as did your administration, but I still feel that the war in Iraq was important. I salute you.

I, for one, believe that many years from now, you will be hailed as one of the greatest presidents we have ever had and a hero to the world. I honor you for your courage and the strength it took to follow your heart and do what you knew was the right thing to do even as the nation turned against you.

From an admiror with warmest regards
