Finding The Clitoris Hidden In Plain Sight

One of the most beloved jokes among feminists is that most "pro-life" people are people you wouldn't want to sleep with in the first place, but more recently we like to say they're people who couldn't find a clitoris if given a map. It's funny, but it's also sad because our nation's sex ed is so awfully wanting. I didn't even know how large the clitoris was, let alone how deeply it goes into your body, until I was an adult. How could I not know this about my own body--not to mention the organ with the most nerve endings on it?

World's Smallest Preemie Goes Home

While in the hospital with my micropreemie, who was born three months prematurely at 17 ounces, I always hated when people told me that miracles exist, or God is good. That was fine if they believed that, but we both nearly died, and babies died around us every week. I heard a mother cry while her baby died in her arms next to me. Pregnancy and childbirth are not nearly as safe or clear as so many people, particularly the "pro-life people," would have us believe, and there are many reasons why a woman would want to, you know, not die and not have a baby.

Mother's Day Crafts

Mother's Day is just around the corner, and many mothers and other caregivers love to get homemade items from their loved ones as gifts. As a mom, I have to say that my favorite Mother's Day present of all time was a letter my kiddo wrote me while we were camping. So if you are looking for some things to make, or to help little hands make for the holiday, you're in luck!

Jeff Goldblum Themed Pop Tarts

Oh, Internet. Sometimes you are so weird yet perfect we can't help but hug you. Take, for example, the people pairing different flavors of Pop-Tarts with one of our favorite 80s (and current) movie actors, Jeff Goldblum.  Don't get too excited; nobody is making Jeff Goldblum faces on Pop-Tarts, or even naming them after the star. They're just choosing current flavors to match his looks. It's still hilarious and you have to see it!

Mother's Day Brunch

For Mother's Day, I don't go out for brunch since my husband works. We do a late dinner after he gets off work instead. I know a lot of people enjoy the brunch, though, and we usually do a Father's Day brunch for him. Next year his schedule will flip-flop due to Leap Year and he'll be off the opposite days for a while, so we will have to do it early!

Counting Toads And Frogs

Here at Frog Source, we love citizen science projects, especially the ones that let you help frog and toad populations! There are lots of projects you can take part in, but did you know that many states have their own local programs with which you can participate? Our local science center and zoo have their own projects, for example, and Wisconsin has an annual program for citizens to help out with, too.

Games For Your Brain

I think every game is good for your brain. Even the toilet humor games people love so much make them laugh, and laughter is wonderful for your brain and body. Some games are especially designed to stimulate your brain, however, and it's really fun to try those games out, use them in your homeschooling or teaching and just keep them around to help your brain stay active.

The U.S. government is planning on modernization and expansion of our nuclear forces in response to the behavior of Russia in the past few years. Having three quarters of a trillion dollars this year allocated to the defense budget has encouraged the Pentagon to throw a lot of money at a variety of old and new weapons systems.
